Who is Tara Roehl?

💡 “My kid is smart… but—”

If you’ve ever said those words, you’re in the right place.

Hi, I’m Tara—SLP, clinic owner, homeschool mom, and executive functioning enthusiast who’s been walking alongside families for nearly two decades. I believe every child is smart. They just need the right tools to organize their brilliance and thrive in a world that isn’t always designed with their brain in mind.

🧠 Where It All Started

I began my career in the schools, where I spent four years before transitioning into private practice. In 2012, I opened my own clinic—and I’ve been supporting families ever since.

My passion for executive functioning began in a social cognition clinic. We were teaching all the right social rules, but something was missing. That’s when I started asking deeper questions:
How do kids plan and follow through? How do they shift gears? Manage emotions? Stay focused?

That lightbulb moment changed everything:
We weren’t just teaching skills. We needed to teach the brain how to manage itself.

And that’s become the heart of my work ever since.

🌍 A Virtual Practice with Global Reach

I’ve been doing telepractice since 2011—before it was a buzzword. I started with international clients, and now I work with families across the globe, from California to Massachusetts, Colorado to Utah, and as far as the Philippines and Hong Kong.

Today, my practice is fully virtual—and it works beautifully. Because executive functioning skills aren’t just taught. They’re practiced, in real time, in the spaces that matter most: your home, your routines, your life.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 I Work With the Whole Family

Executive functioning isn’t just about the student—it’s about the ecosystem around them. That’s why I work closely with parents, equipping you with insights and strategies so you can support your child between sessions (and long after we finish working together).

My goal is simple:
Help kids understand how their brain works—and help families build systems that stick.

I always say:

We’re not just teaching skills for 9-year-olds—we’re building tools they’ll still use at 29.

Because success isn’t just about checking boxes. It’s about creating habits that lead to confidence, independence, and joyful self-direction.

🎯 I Believe...

✔ Every kid has their own kind of smarts
✔ Executive functioning skills help them show off those smarts
✔ Learning should be fun, engaging, and personalized
✔ Kids deserve tools that fuel their passions—not just help them pass their classes
✔ When families feel empowered, everything changes

So if you’re here to better understand your child’s brain, build lasting systems, and find more peace in your day-to-day—welcome.

Let’s build something that lasts.
Let’s raise kids who don’t just survive—but thrive in an organized world.
