What are executive functioning skills?
When I tell people I am a Speech-Language Pathologist, the most common response I receive is “so you teach kids how to say their /r/?”
I mean I can… but I don’t…
Similarly, when I tell the general public that I specialize in “executive functioning skills” I often get asked, “so you help people organize their room?”.
My response is very often “yes… and…”
Because executive functioning skills are so much more than just organizing your room or your backpack.
They are a full set of skills that work together and build on each other to help individuals thrive.
