A little about Tara Roehl
💡 “My kid is smart… but—”
If you’ve ever said those words, you’re in the right place.
Hi, I’m Tara—SLP, clinic owner, homeschool mom, and executive functioning specialist who’s been walking alongside families for almost two decades. I believe that every child is smart—they just need the right support system to help them organize their brilliance and thrive in a world that doesn’t always feel built for their brains.
🧠 Where It All Started
I began my career in the schools, where I worked for four years before transitioning into a private clinic. In 2012, I opened my own practice—and I’ve been serving families ever since.
My deep love for executive functioning skills started when I worked at a social cognition clinic. We were teaching all the right social lessons, and yet… something was missing. I started digging deeper into how kids plan, organize, shift gears, and manage their emotions—and it clicked:
We weren’t just teaching skills. We needed to teach the brain how to manage itself.
That was the beginning of what’s now become the heart of my work.
🌍 A Virtual Practice with Global Reach
I’ve been doing telepractice since 2011, long before it became a buzzword. I started with international clients and now work with students and families across the globe—from California to Massachusetts, Colorado to Utah, and even in the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Today, I see all my clients virtually. And you know what? It works beautifully. Why? Because executive functioning isn’t something we just “teach”—it’s something we practice together, in real time, in the environments that matter most: your home, your routines, your life.
👨👩👧👦 I Work With the Whole Family
Executive functioning isn’t just about the student—it’s about the ecosystem around them. That’s why I work closely with parents, helping you understand how your child’s brain ticks so you can better support them between sessions.
My job is to help kids understand themselves, and to help families develop tools that actually work—not just for next week, but for years to come. I always say:
“I’ll only teach them skills at 9-years-old—that will still work for them at 29.”
Because success isn’t just about checking boxes. It’s about creating habits that lead to confidence, independence, and joyful self-direction.
🎯 I Believe...
✔ Every kid has their own kind of smarts
✔ Executive functioning skills help them show off those smarts
✔ Learning should be fun, engaging, and personalized
✔ Kids deserve tools that help them pursue their passions, not just pass their classes
✔ When families feel empowered, everything changes
So if you’re here to better understand your child’s brain, build systems that work, and maybe even find some peace in the daily chaos—welcome.
Let’s build something that lasts.
Let’s raise kids who can thrive—not just survive—in an organized world.
